Jonas Brothers Softball game promotes X the TXT

The RVP Team was invited to shoot additional coverage for an awareness campaign with the Jonas Brothers. The X the TXT campaign event was sponsored by Allstate Insurance. Kevin, Nick and Joe Jonas played a softball game in nearby Brockton, MA to bring awareness to the issue of texting while driving. Allstate's X the TXT campaign promotes teenagers and young adults to put down their cell phones and avoid texting while driving.

Rhode Island Video Production is proud to announce a new video shot by Rajah Samaroo. Rajah was invited to the Patron Secret Dining Society aboard a yacht in Newport Harbor on August 22nd. The focus of the video demonstrated many examples of how to pair fine dining with cocktails featuring Patron tequila. The three man shoot proved to be a challenge with rain in the forecast, but Rajah and his team successfully produced an amazing HD video that delighted Patron and showcased their quality tequila drinks.

Producer Rajah Samaroo was hired by AOL Fanhouse TV to create a behind the scenes video featuring the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA. Rajah had the privilege of shooting footage on field with Tom Brady, Randy Moss, and Coach Bill Belichick on August 12th just before their first preseason game of 2010. In addition, he shot interviews with Patriots owner Robert Kraft and running back Reggie Bush of the defending Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints.
RVP Helps Local Salon Get National Coverage

Rajah Samaroo of RI Video Production visited the Cristiaan Salon in Providence, RI to shoot an AOL Online Webcast featuring stylist Lui. Located on Benefit Street, Cristiaan stylist Lui demonstrated the hot new trend popping up in hair salons around the country. She demonstrated the Zig-Zag Two-Tone technique in a three minute video that was shot in only 2 hours.

He was hired to be the Cinematographer on the feature dark comedy "The Joneses", the short film "Cold Brother", and the music video "The Harem in the Hammam". Some of these shots were taken with the New Canon 7D for which you might notice the enhanced image quality and shallow depth of field.

GSP Studios and RI Video Production is pleased to present a behind the scenes video that was shot during a photoshoot for Grammy-nominated R&B singer Blu Cantrell, who lives right here in Rhode Island. The video was shot by Rajah Samaroo as he followed the shoot around Warwick at the NYLO hotel and on location at 3 Steeple Street in Providence.
New Music Video Completed

The RVP Team recently completed a music video for TAKI, a musician whose work is heavily inspired by the forbidden music of Greek culture during the early part of the 1900's. The song, entitled “The Harem in the Hammam” was actually written in 1935 by the artist's Great Uncle. It was music that was played secretly in basements in Greece and it tells a story of a Sultan who spends his days smoking Hookah and enjoying beautiful women who danced for him in his “Hammam”. The Hammam is a Turkish bath set in a luxurious palace. It would have been nice to shoot in a real Turkish bath but we came up something on a small time artist budget that was shot in a smoke-filled basement in Cumberland. After two days of inhaling fumes from the fog machine and the Fire Gypsy dancing, we came up with some great ideas and shots.
The music video quickly sprung up to 1800 views when placed on Youtube several months back. This recently uploaded it to Vimeo has a few slight changes.

Today, Rajah Samaroo of RI Video Production visited the studios of Greg Shumshenia in Pawtucket, RI in the beginning of a series of shoots to promote photographer Greg and 2 time Grammy nominated R&B singer, Blu Cantrell. Greg gave us a peek into his style of photography with some on the spot interviews. In just a few takes, Greg represented his studio and passion for commercial photography very well according to the director Rajah Samaroo. Ironically, this opportunity came just days before when Rajah visited Greg to formulate a partnership to combine his filmmaking experience with Greg's up-and-coming photography business.
"The Blu shoot went very well", says Greg Shumshenia.
Blue Cantrell was thoroughly impressed with the locations that Mr. Shumshenia chose to shoot in. The NYLO hotel and 3 Steeple Street proved to be great spots to shoot Blu in her natural surroundings.
New Equipment Upgrades for RI Video Production

We are pleased to announce a few key upgrades in the equipment department: a Canon 7D which takes remarkable film quality video in high definition along with 3 Canon prime lenses. In addition to that, we have a new SteadyCam vest, camera shoulder brace, and upgraded sound gear from Azden. The steady cam will be used in upcoming music video shoots while the shoulder brace provides a step up from handheld shooting for run-and-gun shoots.

On November 1st 2009, Shining Armour Pictures' Andrew Marnik and Cinematographer Rajah Samaroo of Edge Infinity Studios combined their 15-plus years of experience in the the film and video production business to formulate RI Video Production. RI Video Production was primarily created as a way to branch off video production from Rajah's film making pursuits under the Edge Infinity Studios banner.
“Essentially, we are making it clear to clients that we want to help promote their business”, says Rajah Samaroo.
With the formulation of the new banner, we are able to focus our efforts in leveraging video for small businesses in Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts. We believe that video is the future of web promotions, and thus we are taking this step to ensure a place as video makers to push web content into the future. Unlike other national companies that may sell small videos at a wholesale rate, we are a local provider who will work closely with our clients to get the best results at affordable prices.
With this new partnership, we are also able to further build on each other's strengths. Rajah likes exploring the technology side of video production while Mr. Marnik's talent is that of dealing with clients.
